BSP stages walkout on Bundelkhand issue
New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI) BSP members today staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour when Speaker Somnath Chatterjee rejected their demand to discuss Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's alleged forcible entry into the office of the District Magistrate of Bundelkhand.
The BSP members had earlier stalled the proceedings in the House during the Question Hour on the issue, forcing the Chair to adjourn the House till 1200 hrs after pandemonium prevailed for 15 minutes.
When the House re-assembled, the issue was again raised by the BSP members soon after the members laid on the table papers listed in the agenda. The BSP members raised slogans and walked out of the House when the Chair did not allow them to speak. They were protesting against the manner in which Mr Gandhi entered the office of the Bundelkhand District Magistrate.
The issue was raised by Mr Brajesh Pathak (BSP) as soon as the House met this morning who demanded suspension of the Question Hour to discuss the incident. He said he had already given a notice for the suspension of the Question Hour.
He was supported by his party colleagues, who also stood on their feet, raising slogans: ''Bundelkhand par rajniti bandh karo (Stop playing politics over Bundelkhand.'' Mr Chatterjee said he would allow discussion on the issue after the Question Hour like he had done thrice in the current session.
