3 infants die after being given vaccine

Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, April 23 (UNI) Three infants died after being administered small pox vaccine in Pennalurpet village here today.

A medical camp for vaccination was held at the Primary Health Centre in Kathcur area in Pennalurpet where seven infants(ten-month-old) were vaccinated.

After the vaccine was adminstered, the children showed signs of allergy and were referred to Tiruvallur District Head Quarters Government Hospital where three out of the seven children died.

The deceased were identified as Mohana Priya, Pooja and Nandini.

Another child Vignesh was stated to be serious.

A team of three doctors from Chennai has reached Tiruvallur and were analysing the problem. Based on their report, action would be taken, Disrict Collector said.
