UP reels under hot wave condition; two dead

Lucknow, Apr 22 (UNI) The blistering heat continues to play havoc claiming two lives, including a child, in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hrs.

The death incidents were reported from Marangpur village and Bah area in Agra, where a man and a six-year-old Vikas died of sun stroke.

Temperature at Taj city has reached 41.7 degrees celsius and scorching sun at noon is forcing people to stay inside their home.

According to the Met Department, in the last 24 hrs, a remarkable rise in day temperature, including the state capital, was recorded in Kanpur, Varanasi, Faizabad, Bareilly, Agra and Meerut.

However, Varanasi was the hottest at 43.2 degrees celsius, which is four notches above the normal, whereas, Allahabad was 40.9 degrees Celsius, Jhansi 41.3, Kanpur 40.6, Agra 40.9 and Meerut 39 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Met department has predicted dry weather in the next 24 hrs.
