Islamabad, Apr 22 : Last evening's meeting between the PPP and the PML-N over the issue of restoration of deposed Supreme Court judges remained inconclusive, and the two sides decided to meet again today (Tuesday) to find out ways to implement the Murree Declaration.

Sources privy to the meeting said there was a consensus on the restoration of the sacked judges through a parliamentary resolution, but differences over a constitutional judicial reforms package.

"The PPP wants to fix the tenure of the chief justice of Pakistan and chief justices of the high courts through a constitutional package but the PML-N is insisting on reverting the situation back to the November 2, 2007, position without any if and buts," the Daily Times quoted sources privy to the meeting as saying.

After the meeting, PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq said PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N Nawaz Sharif also spoke one-on-one for half an hour in a bid to resolve the deadlock of restoration of judges.
