Phadanvis alleges corruption in rice and dal purchase
Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) BJP MLA Devendra Phadanvis today alleged in the State Legislative Assembly that there was corruption to the tune of Rs 60 to 90 crore in the purchase of dal and rice for distribution to the poor.
Mr Phadanvis said the State Marketing Federation had given the tenders in only one local newspaper in the city and alleged that dal and rice were purchased at a higher rate of Rs four and Rs three respectively.
He further said 60,000 tonnes of dal and 2,10,000 tonnes of rice were purchased.
Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar, however, agreed to take up the issue tomorrow through a calling attention notice.
