Passenger held with fake passport

Chennai, Apr 22 (UNI) Airport Customs officials today arrested a passenger from Malaysia on the charges of carrying fake passport at the Anna International Terminal here today.

Airport officials said Senthil (26) from Villupuram District was caught by the Customs officials when he tried to clear the immigration check with a fake passport.

During interrogation, the accused said he obtained a fake passport from an agent in Malaysia since his employer refused to give him the original.

Later, officials handed over the passenger to the Airport police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, airport officials seized electronics goods worth ten lakh from a Singapore passenger.

Officials said during a routine check, Customs officials found Abdul Ahmed (36) carrying various electronic goods including digital camera, memory sticks, cellphone and computer related items.

The passenger was arrested and handed over to the Airport police for further investigation.
