NCP shortlists three names for Thane by-polls
Mumbai, Apr 22 (UNI) NCP has shortlisted three names for the Thane lok sabha by-elections and sent it to the parliamentary board for approval.
Sanjiv Naik, son of State Labour Minister Ganesh Naik, Niranjan Davkhare, son of Deputy Chairman Legislative Council Vasant Davkhare and Dr Niranjan Desai, are the three names.
Mr Naik, former Mayor of Navi Mumbai, seems to be the front runner in the race.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena has already given candidature to Anand Paranjape, son of late Prakash Paranjape, who had represented the constituency, since 1996 till the death.
