Kshetra Panchayat case: HC quashes no-confidence motion
Allahabad, Apr 22 (UNI) A division bench of the Allahabad High Court today quashed no-confidence motion, passed against Kshetra Panchayat pramukh, Manda, Allahabad Hublal after holding its entire proceeding as wholly undemocratic, unconstitutional and fraud.
The Court also directed for action against presiding officer V L Saroj, observer Pankaj Kumar Gupta and Manda police station SHO R N Sidharth, for not performing their duties properly.
This order was passed by a division bench, comprising Justices A Kumar and Rakesh Sharma after going through a CD recorded during the no-confidence motion. The Court has allowed the writ petition, filed by block pramukh Hublal and several other members of Kshetra Panchayat, challenging the no-confidence motion passed on January 10, 2008.
After viewing the CD, the Court noted that the meeting held on January 10 and the resolution passed therein were not valid.
Hublal was elected as Pramukh Kshetra Panchayat in March 2006, but after the change of government, no-confidence motion was brought.
