Chandimandir Command Hospital gets new MRI Centre
Chandigarh, Apr 22 (UNI) Equipped with a state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, the new MRI Centre at Chandimandir Command Hospital was today inaugurated by Lt Gen Yogender Singh, DGAFMS (Director General Armed Forces Medical Services) and Senior Col Commandant of the Army Medical Corps.
Speaking on the occasion, the General said that the opening of this Centre at Chandimandir was part of the continuing upgradation process of the AFMS and soon other hospitals would also be equipped with latest equipment.
When asked to comment on the comparison between the corporate hospitals and the command hospitals, Gen Singh said that "if not better, the command hospitals certainly matched up to their standards".
Maj Gen Charanjit Singh, Commandant, Command Hospital said that during the last six months, a number of new facilities, including a separate oncology ward for cancer patients and neurology OPD, had been added in the hospital for the convenience of the patients.
