Centre sanctions Rs 42.6 cr to Mizoram for urban poor

Aizawl, Apr 22 (UNI) The Union ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation has sanctioned Rs 42.6 crores to Mizoram for construction of houses for as many as 908 poor families living in urban area.

The ministry, under the IHSDP (Integrated Housing&Slum Development Programme), sanctioned Rs 8.27 crores for project I to construct 500 houses. It also sanctioned under the BSUP (Basic Services to the Urban Poor) Rs. 34.33 Crores for construction of 408 houses (project II), an official source said today.

Of the Rs 8.27 crores under the IHSDP, the state government will meet 25 per cent (Rs 2.6 crores), the source said, adding that the Centre had released half the amount, that is Rs 3.11 crores.

The state government will meet Rs 5.42 crores of the Rs 34.33 crores of the BSUP project-2, while the Centre has already released 25 per cent (Rs 7.25 crores) of its share.
