Centre allots additional rice to Mizoram

Aizawl, Apr 22 (UNI) Mizoram Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Miniter K Sangthuama today said that the Centre has approved a total of 14,285 MT of rice per month.

The state government had requested the Centre to provide an additional 8,000 MT of rice at economic cost of Rs four crores every month.

Mr Sangthuama also apprised the railway ministry about the problems in transportation of rice by rail.

He also urged the FCI officials to expedite supply of rice to Mizoram.

Mr Sangthuama also met central disaster management officials to discussing on disasters like Bamboo famine and ways to control it.
