Census of small scale industries launched in Punjab
Moga, Apr 22 (UNI) As per the directions of the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, a fortnight operation census of small scale industries have been launched in Punjab.
This was stated here today by Mr Satbir Singh, General Manager, District Industries Centre Moga, while launching the census in Moga, one of the biggest industrial centre of the state.
According to the General Manager, the census would be conducted for small scale units registered with the Department of Industries and under the factory act.
He said that the census aimed to formulate new industrial policy keeping in view of the problem being faced by these units and would also frame another policy for the reviving of the sick and closed units in order to provide more employment opportunities.
The General Manager stated that the fourth national level census would be completed by June 30 and in Moga district there are approximately about 3,000 such units.
"The enumerators will visit each and every unit to get information about the units. The information collected will be used only for statistical purposes and for its betterment and not going to be used for taxation purposes," he said.
