BJP urges EC to provide security for Bellary candidates
Bangalore, Apr 22 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has urged the Election Commission to provide security to its candidates in Bellary, contesting the ensuing Karnataka Assembly elections, following ''threat'' from the Congress and JD(S).
A party release here today said there was a conspiracy by both the parties to create a law and order problem in programmes organised by the BJP ahead of the elections and urged the EC to take stringent action against such ''anti-social elements''.
It cited the example of a recent attack on the house of a Congress member and putting the blame on the BJP without any basis.
The party appealed to the EC to hold the polls in a free and fair manner.
