Passport fees waived for fire victims
Dubai, Apr 21 (UNI) The Indian government has waived fees for duplicate passports of workers and small businessmen who lost their documents in a fire in Naif souq recently.
The Indian consulate here said in a release that the Ministry of External Affairs has issued instructions to the effect.
The Consulate would provide free service to the victims upto May 12, the release stated.
The requirement of newspaper advertisement and individual police report for applying duplicate passport were also waived, it added.
A large number of low income Indians lost all their documents and life's savings in the fire.
