Kathmandu, Apr 21: The Election Commission (EC) of Nepal has said that the final vote count is likely to be completed by Tuesday. "The final result of the election under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) is expected to be out by Monday and the result under the proportion representation (PR) electoral system is expected to be out by Tuesday," nepalnews.com quoted EC spokesperson Laxman Bhattarai, as saying.
"Thereafter, the EC would take two to three days to calculate the votes received by each political party and allocate 335 seats for all eligible political parties on the basis of their vote weight and inform them in this regard," he added. The counting of votes has been completed under the FPTP in 234 constituencies. Under the PR system, vote counting has been completed in 216 constituencies as of Sunday evening.
