Bihar govt not against CBI probe into Akash kidnapping case:Nitish

Patna, Apr 21 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state government had no problem in handing over the Akash kidnapping case to the CBI for inquiry.

Akash, a Class X student of DAV Public School in Shastrinagar locality of Patna, was kidnapped on August 10 last year.

Akash's father Yogendra Pandey met the Chief Minister at his official residence and urged him to ensure ''early and safe'' release of his son.

He informed Mr Kumar that a letter demanding Rs 10 lakh as ransom for release of his son, was found tagged on the door of his house when he opened it in the morning, two days back.

Mr Kumar told reporters after meeting Mr Pandey that the Bihar government had no problem in handing over the investigation of the case to the CBI.

''I have directed the officials of the Home Department to prepare a proposal for CBI inquiry into the case and place it before me for my approval,'' he said.
