SGPC opens first zonal office in AP capital
Hyderabad, Apr 20 (UNI) The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), the highest temporal and apex body of the Sikh Community in the country, has spread its wings to South India with the opening of a full-fledged zonal office here today by its President S Avatar Singh Makkar.
This zonal office at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in the city would be under the control of the SGPC.
In his address, Mr Singh said the office would benefit hundreds of people residing in Andhra Pradesh and other South Indian States as it would help them book rooms in Gurdwara or for perform Akhandpath Sahib for Sri Guru Granth Sahibji at the Golden Temple in Amritsar besides other facilities.
For SGPC, the office would serve as a platform to spread the message of Sikhism and activities being taken up by it, a release said.
