Rape case booked against cop in AP

Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 20 (UNI) Police today registered a rape case against a constable for allegedly molesting a woman in Kodumur police station in this district.

Police said the rape case under section 376 was booked against the constable, Nagaraju who was later arrested. The accused raped the woman, being arrested on charge of theft case two days ago, in the police station.

The Constable and the sub Inspector Arohana Rao were suspended from the services after the irate villagers and women organisations attacked the police station last evening alleging that the constable molested the woman.

Meanwhile, the victim was admitted to a hospital in Kurnool to find out whether she was raped by Nagaraju.
