Major train mishap averted

Sankarankoil, Tamil Nadu, Apr 20 (UNI) A major train accidet was averted today after timely detection of a crack in the track near here.

Railway sources said minutes before the Pothigai Express was to pass, a Railway patrol team detected a huge crack in the track and alerted the authorities.

The train was immediately stopped before it could reach the spot and the track repaired.

Railway officials quoted climate change as the reason for the crack and ruled out any sabotage.
