3-members of family among 5 killed in road mishaps in Punjab

Hoshiarpur, Apr 20 (UNI) Five persons were killed in two road accidents in the district since last night.

According to the police sources, Sandip Kumar, alias Sonu of Gaja Gillian and Amrik Singh of Satnaur were killed when the scooter on which they were traveling collided with a car near Garhshankar today. The two who were seriously injured after the collision died on the way to the hospital.

After the accident the car driver got away despite the police registering a case.

In the second mishap three members of a family were killed when the scooter on which they were traveling was hit by a tourist coach near Tuto Mazara village in the district late last night. the deceased were identified as Jasvir Singh (45), his wife, Jaswinder Kaur and their son, Amandeep.

Residents of Sarhala Khurd village, they were on thei way home when the mishap occured. After the accident the tourist coach driver and conductor fled after leaving their vehicle behind.

A case under sections 279, 304 A, 427 of the IPC has been registered at the Mahilpur police station against the bus driver.
