Teachers call off stir, AP Govt accepts demands

Hyderabad, Apr 19 (UNI) The leaders of the Joint Action Committee for Teachers Organisations (JACTO) today called off their fast unto death stir after the Andhra Pradesh Government agreed to accept their demands, following discussions between state primary Education Minister D Raja Narasimha and representatives of the JACTO.

Mr Narasimha agreed to implement the unified service rules for all teachers working under various departments in the State.

The Government would initiate steps to solve the issue, which was pending in the Supreme Court, he added.
