Pakistan to develop road links with neighbouring countries

Islamabad, Apr 19 : The Pakistan Government is developing a National Trade Corridor (NTC) to create transport links with neighbouring countries in order to boost trade and people-to-people contacts in the region.

The NTC will connect Pakistan with China, Iran, Central Asian Republics, Turkey, Middle East and India.

Federal Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said that the corridor would be completed by 2010.

Khan also said that the newly constructed Makran Coastal Highway had immense importance not only for transit trade for the Central Asian Republics but also for other neighbouring countries.

Railways operation under the NTC plan would also be developed, the Dawn quoted him, as saying.
