One Pak infiltrator among five militants killed in Kashmir
Baramulla, Apr 19 (UNI) A Pakistani infiltrator was among five militants killed by the security forces in north Kashmir today, official sources said.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police told UNI that a search operation was launched at Warnov forest at Lolab in the frontier district of Kupwara this morning.
They said when the security forces were about to storm a particular area, militants opened fire. The fire was returned and in the fierce clash, four militants were killed.
He said massive search operation in the area was still going on.
They said troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in Keran sector early this morning under the cover of darkness.
When challenged and asked to surrender, militants opened fire.
The fire was returned and in the clash, one infiltrator was killed.
Search was still going on in the area when reports last came in, they said.
