Model Code of Conduct to apply to projects

Shimla, Apr 19 (UNI) No fresh release of funds under Parliament and Legislative Assembly Local Area Development Fund would be made available where Model Code of Conduct is enforced, Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda said here today.

The Chief Electoral Officer said for projects regarding which orders have been issued before the imposition of Model Code of Conduct, but the work has actually not started, the works could start only after the completion of election process. However, if a work had actually started on the ground then that could be continue, she added.

"Under the code of conduct provisions election commission has restricted any financial grant in any form, to make promise thereof, lay foundation stone of schemes and projects'', Ms Nanda said.
