Ten killed, 25 injured in two tractor accidents in AP
Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) Ten people were killed and 25 others injured in two road accidents in Andhra Pradesh today.
Police said six people of a marriage party, including a woman and a one-year-old baby, were killed and ten others injured when the tractor in which they were travelling, overturned near Pottakulapalli in Chittor district.
The ill-fated tractor, carrying about 30 people going for a another wedding, overturned while overtaking another tractor, in which a marriage party was proceeding to the bridegroom's place in Kotha Kuravapalle.
The bride, who was also travelling in the tractor escaped while the deceased were yet to be identified, police added.
All the injured were rushed to Piler Government Hospital.
In another road incident, four people, including a woman, were killed and 15 others injured when a tractor in which they were travelling overturned near Balabadrapuram in East Godavari district.
Police said the accident occurred when the tractor was proceeding to Machavaram from Rangampeta carrying a marriage party of 20 people.
The tractor driver's negligence was said to be the reason for the incident, police added.
The injured were shifted to the Government hospital here, where the condition of a person was reported to be serious.
The deceased were identified as Y Raju (45), Y Subbalakshmi (35), T Prasad (40) and three-year-old boy R Chitti Raju, police said.
