Seven people killed in a road mishap

Mysore, Apr 18 (UNI) Seven people were killed and other seven people seriously injured in two different accidents in Mysore and Mandya districts today.

Police said that five people were killed and seven others injured when a lorry and a jeep collided head on near Hunsur in the District. While four people were killed on the spot, another person succumbed to injuries in Hunsur Hospital.

The other injured were shifted to K R Hospital in Mysore.

The jeep carrying 11 people was bound for K R Nagara from Piriyapatna for a naming ceremony. The deceased were identified as Channamma (70) Saraswathamma (48) Ganguly (12) Cleaner Nahyan (20).

One body that of driver was yet to be identified.

In a freak mishap, two people were killed when two lorries dashed against a stranded tipper at Nagathihalli in Nagamangala taluk in Mandya district in the early hours of today. Victims have been identified as Vinya (27) and Anantharam (35).
