Railways Appropriation Bill passed

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today passed by voice vote the Appropriation (Railways) Bill, 2008, allowing the Railways to appropriate Rs 147667,84,53,000 from the Consolidated Fund of India for 2008-09.

The amount-- Rs one lakh forty seven thousand six hundred sixty seven crore, eighty four lakh and fifty three thousand-- will go towards payment incurred by the Railways for services till March 31, 2009.

The Bill was passed after the Demands for Grants (Railways) for 2008-09 was voted and cleared by the House.
