Pondy takes steps to fill up vacant posts

Puducherry, Apr 18 (UNI) The Puducherry Administration is taking steps to fill up vacant posts here and the government has approached the Centre for creation of more parts to grant adhoc promotion, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Legislative Assembly today.

Replying to a question, Mr Rangasamy said ten posts of directors were vacant and the administration would take steps to fill up the posts as early as possible.

He said the administration had sent a file to the Centre, and was waiting for its response to create more posts to give promotion.

CPI Member R Viswanathan asked whether promotions were not given earlier without the permission of the Centre, to which the Chief Minister said at that time the Lt Governor had agreed for granting promotion, but now the Lt Governor was not providing sanctions.
