Police file cheating case against 4 for fraud

Nashik, Apr 18 (UNI) The city police have filed a case of cheating against four persons for allegedly cheating their firm to the tune of Rs 74 lakh since 2003.

The case was filed against the four -- K Prabhaujan Madan Kavdsa, Mukhtar Mohammad Mehboob Sheikh (both of Nashik), Narendrakumar Reddy and D S Daundkar (both of Pune) --following a complaint lodged by Rajnikant Varadrajlu Rama, an employee of Vishakha Industries Ltd, Secundrabad in Andhra Pradesh, which has a branch office at Malsangvi area in Nashik.

The foursome deceived the company to the tune of Rs 74 lakh by issuing fake bank statements and balance-sheets. They deposited the money into their own accounts. They did this for the last five years, police said.

The company management learnt about the misappropriation of funds recently and the case was filed against them under sections 403, 420, 468, 471, 477 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The Economic Offences Wing of the Nashik Police are carrying out further investigations, they added.
