Kerala spends 97.5 pc allocation for STs
Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 18 (UNI) The Kerala Government has utilised 97.54 per cent of the total Rs 230.57 crore allocation meant for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes during the last financial year.
State Backward Communities Welfare Minister A K Balan told newspersons here today that a sum of Rs 80.33 crore of the total allocation of Rs 86.20 crore, amounting to 93.19 per cent, was spent for the welfare of Scheduled Castes.
Referring to the Rs 630 crore diverted for other purposes by local bodies, he said the amount would be recovered and utilised for the welfare of backward communities this year.
