Council Chairman Chandrasekhar rules out contesting

Bangalore, Apr 18 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Prof B K Chandrasekhar today ruled out the possibility of him contesting the next month's elections to the State Assembly on Congress party ticket.

In a statement here, he said that though his name had been selected for contesting from Jayanagar segment in the city he was not going to contest.

He said, "I am satisfied with Council Chairman post and there is enough opportunity to do meaningful and creative work. So I like to continue in the Council".

The Congress Party is likely to come out with the first list today.
