Special courts for corruption cases in Bihar
Patna, Apr 17 (UNI) Enthused with the success of speedy trials against the criminals, the Bihar government is now planning to book the corrupted officers by setting up special courts.
The government has announced stern action against those involved in corruption cases.
To take action against the criminals, the government went ahead with the speedy trials against them, including the hardcore political criminals.
Toeing the similar lines, the government was now contemplating for setting up special courts to hold speedy trails against the corrupt officers.
''Once the corrupt babus were behind the bars, it would send sufficient signals in the administrative circles setting up fair image of the government,'' Advocate General P K Shahi said here today adding that the blue print of the plan had been chalked out and would be placed before the Patna High Court very soon.
These courts would immediately dispose off the pending corruption cases by awarding sentences to the accused officers, he added.
Highlighting the motive of the mission, Mr Shahi maintained that speedy trials and convictions would help to clean the administrative and judicial system as well as check corruptions at various lavels.
Earlier, the state government had created special courts to dispose off the cases like kidnapping, ransom, murder, loot and arson.
Prominent politicians, inclduing the ruling JD(U) MLA from Piro Narednra Kumar Pandey, Md Shahabuddin, Anand Mohan, Lovely Anand, Akhlaque Ahmad, Munna Shukla, Rama Singh, have been convicted by these courts.
He said once the trail began it would continue against the government officers and public servants under Prevention of Corruption Act.
