Small grade sugar eases further

Navi Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) Sugar prices of small grade eased further today due to thin buying support, Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.

Small and medium grades fell by Rs 3 and Rs 8 per quintal respectively, amid sustained heavy selling pressure from stockists.

Ex-mill medium grade improved by Rs 5 per quintal on fresh buying support. However, ex-mill small grade sugar remained flat on moderate demand, traders added.

Following were the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,475/1,510, Medium grade: Rs 1,495/1,595 Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,450/1,475 and medium grade: Rs 1,485/1,520.
