Silver ornaments worth Rs 90,000 stolen from Someshwara temple

Nashik, Apr 17 (UNI) Silver ornaments worth Rs 90,000 were stolen from the famous Someshwara temple, situated on the banks of the river Godavari, here today.

As per the complaint lodged by Dinesh Sahebrao Bambre (25), an employee of the Temple Trust, a silver snake around the Pindi (the phallus of Lord Shiva), a silver umbrella over it and a silver ''Abhishekpatra'' were found missing from the temple this morning, police said.

Unidentified people broke the lock of the temple and made off with the silver ornaments and Rs 200 from the donation box, police added.

A case has been registered under sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC with the Ganapur Road Police and further investigations were going on.
