SHO suspended, local Akali leader booked

Jalandhar, Apr 17 (UNI) District police today suspended a Station House Officer (SHO) for deleliction of duty and also booked local Akali leader in an attempt to murder case here this evening.

Police said that Bhogpur Police Station SHO SI Kulwinder Singh was suspended with immidiate effect for handling a case registered on April 14, carelessly, in which one Trilochal Singh of village Bhuttar of Bhogpur Block were injured in a clash with another party of the same village.

Police said one person identified as Pritam Singh of the same village was injured in a firing incident near Kapurthala Chowk here this evening, when he had come to see his injured relative admitted in civil hospital.

Meanwhile, on the basis of the statement of Pritam Singh, police booked Akali Dal president of Bhogpur Block Banta Singh Bhuttar, his son Jagmohan Singh and grandson Manjinder Singh along with Harpreet Singh and Parwinder Singh under section 307 of the IPC.
