Rs 100 cr Titanium Sponge Factory in Kerala

Kollam, Apr 17 (UNI) The grounding breaking ceremony for the Rs 100 crore Titanium Sponge Factory, first of its kind in the country, was performed today.

The project is being carried out by the Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited in tie up with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Ministry of Defence.

Talking to Mediapersons after the function, state Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran said the first phase of the project will be completed by June 30 next year.

The entire production of 500 metric tonnes per annum will be consumed by the ISRO and other defence organisations, he added.
