Police shoot dead three criminals in Noida encounter

Noida, Apr 17 (UNI) Police have shot dead three hardcore criminals in an encounter on the Express Highway here.

The slain criminals -- Sanjay Garg, Zaheer and Birju -- were on their way to collect ransom money from a businessman when the encounter took place last night, SSP, Noida, A Satish Ganesh said today.

Police recovered Rs 50,000, five revolvers and a car from their possession.

The criminals were involved in a number of cases and were planning to execute a murder in Meerut today, the SSP added.
