Over 50 Tibetans held in Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 17: More than 100 Tibetans today staged a protest near the Chinese Consulate office at Nariman Point here even as the Olympic torch run was scheduled to be held in New Delhi amidt tight security.

Police had detained 50 of them under the charges of unlawful assembly.

One of the TYC activists Dorjey said, ''We are protesting against the Olympic Torch run that is to begin today at Delhi.'' Tibetans are protesting all over the world against the Chinese government's rule over Tibet and are demanding their constitutional rights. The protest was held in several parts of the country.
