JLRL clocks Rs 22 cr business in 2007-08
Bangalore, Apr 17 (UNI) The state-owned Jungle Lodges and Resorts Limited (JLRL), a leading wildlife tourism company has posted a turnover of Rs 22 crore for 2007-08 with a growth of over 22 per cent over previous year.
Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of Online Central Reservation System for JLRL here today, Company Managing Director N D Tiwari told newspersons that of the nearly 75,000 tourists, 30 per cent of them from foreign countries had stayed in their wildlife tourist resorts.
Mr Tiwari said JLRL, which is completing 25 years, started with one property, the Kabini River Lodge in 1980. It owned more than 14 properties across Karnataka running bay resorts, heritage tourism, wildlife and eco-tourism.
Stating that the company was all set to diversify into Heritage tourism with the starting of two new hotels, he said JLRL offers consultancy and training services to various state and private entrepreneurs in eco-tourism.
JLRL, a largest state-run eco-tourism company in the country provides all necessary comforts at its eco-tourism destinations without affecting the environment, he added.
