Government order on Adarsha Rythu
Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh government would introduce a comprehensive G O on ''Adarsha Rythus'' (model farmer), coordinating all the connected departments.
Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy asked the ministers and the concerned officials to work in tandem to empower the farmers so that they could in turn educate and empower other farmers in their area.
Andhra Pradesh was the first state to select ''Adarsha Rythus'' in tune with the Swaminathan Commission report in the country, he said.
The Chief Minister reviewed the ''Rythu Chaitanya Yatra'' and ''Rythu Sadassu-2008'' along with ministers and officials at the Secretariat.
The contingent of ''Adarsha Rythus'' has been increased from 25,000 to 50,000 this year. Six days training was being given them in the agriculture and other ancillary sectors.
