Employees' grievances should be looked into: BJP
New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) The BJP today asked the Government to immediately look into the grievances of employees not happy with the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission and demanded immediate announcement of interim relief for them.
Talking to newspersons, BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra regretted that it was the first time that chiefs of three wings of the country's defence forces had expressed their unhappiness before the Defence Minister over the discrimination meted out to them in the recommendations of the Pay Commission.
The resentment over the Pay Commission report was rampant in government employees at all levels, including IAS officers, and it was the duty of the government to open dialogue with them to find an amicable solution to the problem, he said.
Mr Malhotra also wanted that the Government not to sit on the report, presented to it some time back, and implement it after resolving the issues raised by various sections of employees.
He also called for immediate announcement of interim relief, saying the government employees, reeling under the yoke of price rise and inflation, needed some relief now.
