Buddha urges Raja to publish commemmorative stamp on Derozio
Kolkata, Apr 17 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today urged Communication Minister A Raja to publish a commemmorative stamp on Henry Louis Vivian Derozio on the occasion of the biennial centenary of the 'father of Bengal rennaissance'.
In a letter, released to the press, Mr Bhattacharjee said the biennial centenary celebration of Derozio, who was born in 1809, would begin tomorrow.
'' The biennial centenary celebration committee would observe the occasion in an appropriate manner and has decided to request the P and T department to publish a commemorative stamp in his honour. I endorse this proposal, '' he said in the letter.
