Birla Heart Research Centre wins Excellence award

Kolkata, Apr 17 (UNI) BM Birla Heart Research Centre (BMBHRC) has been conferred with Commendation Certificate in the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award-2007 last week.

Being the country's first NABH (mark of quality) accredited hospital, it got the award for quality healthcare and maximum consumer satisfaction.

A trophy, along with Rs 50,000 cheque, was given by the Bureau of Indian Standards.

The award was established in 1991 to give special recognition to manufacturing and service sector organisations.

The Heart Centre has also recently received the ''Express Healthcare Excellence Award'' in Mumbai for 'Inspirational Workplace' category.

Mr M L Pachisia, Member Governing Body BMBHRC said,''Slowly the working atmosphere of West Bengal is changing because of open economy, foreign and private investments and competition in every sector.'' UNI XC PP AM KN1639
