Biju Babu's dream to be realised - Naveen

Bhubaneswar, Apr 17 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said his government would continue its all - out efforts to ensure that the dreams of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik were realised.

Addressing a state level function organised to observe the death anniversary of legendrary leader Biju Patnaik here, the Chief Minister said Biju Babu had a dream to make Orissa industrially developed, where there would be no poverty and unemployment.

He had dedicated his life for the service of the people of the state and was trying his best to provide drinking water and road connectivity to all parts of the state.

The Chief Minister said the state government had announced the current year as the year of irrigation for the development of agriculture and implementing schemes like employment mission, Madhu Babu pension, Mo Kudia, Mo Jami Mo Diha, Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana from its own resources for the development of the state.

Mr Patnaik said Orissa possessed rich mineral resources and his government had given importance to the value addition and initiated steps for imparting high quality education for the development of human resources in the state.

Finance Minister P C Ghadhei, Agriculture Minister Surendranath Naik, Parliament member Prasanna Kumar Patsani were among others present at the meeting.
