AP CM to hike HRA of NIMS employees

Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today agreed to the proposal of Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) management to hike the house rent allowance (HRA) to 30 per cent from 15 per cent to its employees.

Dr Reddy asked the management to discuss increase in salaries and allowances of the faculty in the executive and governing council meetings. The Chief Minister was informed that a specialty hospital for accident and emergency will be opened soon by the NIMS for which the civil works have already started at a cost of Rs 186 crore.

The civil works for the NIMS university campus at Bibinagar will begin soon by the Nagarjuna Construction Company. The Chief Minister was explained by the NIMS director that the department of Science and Technology, Government of India had sanctioned Rs 25 crore for stem cell research (NIMS Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) Phase-II).
