Wanted sharp shooter from Bihar held in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) The Delhi Police today said they have arrested a sharp shooter involved in gunning down of Bihar's additional public prosecutor Ram Naresh Sharma, whose killing evoked strong protests in that state.

They said 23-year-old Amar Nath Choudhary, alias Lotan Choudhary, a resident of Begusarai in Bihar, was arrested near PVR Saket in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar area at 1930 hrs on April 15.

Three unknown people had gunned down Sharma at Begusarai in Bihar on November 8 last year. The killing saw violent protests and working in the courts remained suspended for more than 10 days.

On sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to the killing of the additional public prosecutor, police said.

After committing the crime, he left for Delhi and started working in a private security agency at Shakurpur. Two of his accomplices -- Mukesh and Chandan -- had already been arrested.
