Rupee almost steady at 39.97/98 per USD

Mumbai, Apr 16: Rupee remained steady at 39.97/98 against US Dollar despite the Indian equity market pares gains in the early trade.

The partially convertible Indian Rupee, which closed the session yesterday at 39.96/97 per USD, was largely steady this morning as traders waited to see whether RBI would let the currency rise faster to soften inflation, dealers said.
