More than 1 lakh violation cases in prison recorded since 2005
New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) More than 1 lakh cases of human rights violations in prisons were registered against police with the National Human Rights Commission since 2005, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Shakeel Ahmad said as many as 1,05,174 cases were registered with the maximum recorded from Uttar Pradesh-- 69,006.
The Minister said advisories are being issued by the Centre from time to time to take stern action against guilty officials.
