Composite metals, energy index improves
Mumbai, Apr 16 (UNI) The composite index of metals and energy improved by 2,804.48 points, at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.
Gold June 2008 contract rose by 0.95 per cent at Rs 12,105 per 10 grams, while gold July 2008 contract shrank by 0.22 per cent at Rs 12,038 per 10 grams. Silver May 2008 went up by 1.33 per cent at Rs 23,465 per kg.
All metal contracts recovered as nickel April 2008 contract rose by 2.78 per cent at Rs 1,181.50 per kg and zinc April 2008 went up by 1.70 per cent at Rs 92.55 per kg.
CFI December 2008 contract slid by 2.01 per cent at Rs 1,415.50 per tonne. Crude oil August 2008 also lost by 0.35 per cent at Rs 4,315 per barrel.
While chana, cardamom, kapaskhali, menthaoil receded, rubber and jute contracts made small gains. Chana July 2008 contract shed 3.50 per cent at Rs 2,705 per quintal.
Nickel April 2008 contract topped the list of gainers with a rise of 2.78 per cent at Rs 1,181.50 per kg, MCX release said.
