5 Awarded life imprisonment for rape-murder
Mahoba, Apr 16 (UNI) A local court has awarded life imprisonment to five people accused in the Mubina rape and murder case.
On May 21, 2006, six miscreants had abducted Noorjahan and her daughter Mubina under Charwari police station area.
Although, the sextet had later released Noorjahan, they criminally assualted Mubina before killing her.
The victim's brother had lodged an FIR against Alakhram Yadav, Madan Chaurasia, Mahendra Yadav, Jairam, Ubhai and Halkai.
Later, Mobina's body had been recovered on the banks of river Arjun and it's post-mortem confirmed molestation.
On the basis of testimony and circumstantial evidence, Fast Track Court (FTC) Judge Chandra Pal Singh yesterday convicted the accused Alakhram, Madan, Mahendra, Jairam and Halkai, besides slapping a penalty of Rs 28,500 each on them, which it directed to be given to the victim's family.
Another accused Ubhai had already died during the course of hearings.
